Amber Jensen
Amber’s philosophy on life is deeply rooted in her belief that everyone has a story worthy of love and understanding, and she will discover the best in you! Amber’s contributions to the holistic healing community exemplify a deep commitment to advancing the field of foot zoning and empowering practitioners.
Foot Zone Education: Amber’s training began here, in the USA, in 1992, as an original student of the esteemed and late Dr. Charles Ersdal, of Norway, recognized as the “Father of Foot Zone Therapy.” Amber earned her board certification from him in 1994, gaining appreciation for his profound knowledge. She has advanced his legacy through her diligent studies, research, findings, and advancements of the foot zone technique.
Professional credentials: with a background as a certified foot zone practitioner, licensed massage therapist, a licensed LLT, TCM, and Ayurvedic Medicine, Amber’s expertise spans multiple modalities, enriching her holistic approach to the body’s ability to heal.
Educational contributions: Amber’s commitment to education is evident through her lifetime research, client pathology studies, findings, and authorship of books and classes in Anatomy and Physiology, The Professional Practitioner, Gentle Healing, the K.I.T. (knowledge, intent, and technique), and the co-authorship of the WLZ foot zone books, expanding the knowledge base of practitioners.
Innovative discoveries: Amber’s groundbreaking research led to her to the discovery and addition of 150+ advanced acupressure points on the feet, and revolutionized the strata of the foot zone map, advancing the healing process in the foot zone technique. Her contributions have built the WLZ foot zone library of research and have expanded the scope of efficacy.
Pioneering advocacy and leadership: Amber and many others came together in support of Trudy Thurgood’s and Representative Green’s HB207, legalizing the foot zone technique to stand as its own industry in the state of Utah. This did require all Foot Zone Practitioners to be certified through a school and/or organization recognized by DOPL. These Founders were instrumental in establishing UFZA policies and procedures, ensuring high standards of schools, and Certified Foot Zone Practitioners.
Leadership in professional organizations: Throughout her tenure, as a board member of the UFZA, Amber has exemplified unwavering leadership. Serving in key roles such as membership clerk, chairperson elect, chairperson, and board educator. She has participated and led within the organization with foresight and dedication.
Nationalization of foot zoning: As chairperson, and board educator, Amber spearheaded the help of UFZA board members to the culmination of the National Foot Zone Certification Board, a groundbreaking initiative that standardized the foot zone education and certification on a national level, and additionally, the National Foot Zone Association, to further solidify the nationalization of foot zone therapy, providing a unified platform for practitioners across the country.
Personal life: Amber was born and raised in the Montana countryside, where she developed a profound love for the outdoors and cultivated a nurturing spirit through raising pets, including sheep and cows who lost their mothers. She is married to her college sweetheart, and they have 6 children, and their spouses, who have blessed them with 17 grandchildren. Amber is a free spirit, often spotted barefoot and at ease. Her love for adventure shines through 4-wheeling, and the outdoors. To her, a smile and genuine “thank you” aren’t just gestures; they’re filled with power, warmth and reassurance. Meet Amber, and you’ve met a friend.
